Roti or Rice- which one is better?
If you are Indian then you must be consuming roti and rice. It's part of your breakfast, lunch and dinner. But here the question is Which one is better? Are you eating the wrong grain? Today, I am going to tell you what is best for you and how you should be consuming it for maximum benefit.
NUTRITIONAL INFORMATION
One medium-sized whole wheat roti will give you 100 calories, 20 gram of complex carbs, 3.5 gram of protein, 2.5 gram of dietary fibre and 0.7 gram of fat. On the other hand, one cup of cooked white rice will give you 242 calories, 53 gram of simple carbs, 4.43 gram of protein, 0.7 gram of dietary fibre and negligible amount of fat. So, here Roti is the winner because it is rich in antioxidants, iron, calcium, potassium and vitamins while rice is low in these things. Whole wheat grains are rich in vitamins and minerals which supports the function of skin, hair and other body parts.
Do you eat only Roti or only rice? then it is not the right way. If you are eating white rice and along with you are eating fibre full curry, salads, etc, then it doesn't spike the insulin high.

- SEMI BROWN RICE
It has some anti-nutrients. Basically, the brown rice is beaten which removes the anti-nutrients. It is hand pounded rice which is better than the polished white rice. You should switch semi brown rice which has anti-nutrient, doesn't Crash Your energy down and it's not chewy. It has Complex carbs too.
Red rice is best in all variety of rice but it is quite costly. Normal people can't consume it daily. So, switch to semi brown rice for daily basis.
